More about the program:

Last year’s 40+ business partners were surveyed about the program: some said they gained new customers, and all said they would participate again.

Participating merchants will be provided with a window sign for the program. Plus, businesses that have (or want to create) a reading nook or Little Free Library can request a book donation from the library.

The program will be promoted on the MPL website, social media channels, eNewsletter, press release and other communications leading up to and during Library Card Sign-up Month. A few notes about the interest in the program from MPL cardholders last year (2022):

  • The business discount program webpage was viewed 20,650 times in September, making it MPL’s fourth most-viewed webpage for the month.
  • One of the Reels posted to Instagram during September was MPL’s second most engaging social media post to date (545 engagements), and highest reaching post (29K+).
  • In the Library’s monthly enewsletter last September, the business discount webpage had the most click-throughs (1396 unique users) of all links that month.
