Libraries already have so many great resources we share with our community. We wanted to build upon that model with some other, well, stuff. Enter the Stuffbrary! Library card holders can check out household items, play equipment and more. Stuff is available at all locations, though some items are branch specific. To see what's currently available, check out our catalog.
The Stuffbrary currently includes:

Bicycle Locks – A U-lock with key. Provided by the City of Mesa Bicycle and Pedestrian Program.

Bicycle Tool Kit – Park Tool toolkit containing bicycle specific tools for cleaning, adjustment, maintenance, and basic repairs. Provided by the City of Mesa Bicycle and Pedestrian Program.

Bicycle Tire Floor Pump – Park Tool handheld bicycle floor pump with pressure gauge (160 PSI). Provided by the City of Mesa Bicycle and Pedestrian Program.

Binocular Kits – A pair of binoculars with a phone mount, a 2-sided planisphere, National Geographic Backyard Guide to the Night Sky, and a backpack to hold it all.

Blood Pressure Cuffs – Thanks to a donation from the Mayo Clinic, library card holders can check out a blood pressure cuff and learn more about their health habits (available at Main Library only).

Cake Pans – Holidays, birthdays, celebrations, or even Tuesdays, everything is better with a cake. And when that cake looks like your favorite character, well, that's even better.

Citizen Science – Citizen science is real science done by people like you! You can borrow tools from your library that will help you participate in a specific citizen science project, such as a Sky Quality Meter, an air quality sensor, or a special smartphone lens.

Croquet Sets – Everything you need for a lawn party — mallets, wickets, balls, and instructions all ready to go in a handy duffel bag.

Museum To-Go Boxes – We've partnered with the Arizona Museum of Natural History to bring Museum To-Go boxes to Valley public school teachers. The wheeled boxes are full of fossils, museum-quality replicas and lesson plans tied to Arizona state education standards. To check out a box, visit the service desk at the Main Library for a special checkout procedure (valid Mesa Public Library card and school identification card required). Museum To-Go boxes check out for one week and cannot be held or renewed. Available at the Main Library only.

Hiking Kit – A lightweight backpack with two folding walking sticks, a compass, binoculars, two hiking guides for Phoenix-area hiking trails, and a nature guide to help identify animals, plants, and flowers native to the area. Perfect for enjoying our beautiful outdoors!

Play Kits – Choose from themed play sets with materials to activate the imagination of children ages 3-5. Available at Main Library only.

Play at the Park Kit – A variety of sports equipment to take to the park with your family or friends. Need to find a place to play? City of Mesa Parks and Recreation can help you locate a great park in your neighborhood.

Seed Library – The Seed Libraries at all three of our libraries provide seeds for edible plants and herbs suited for local growing conditions.

Other City of Mesa Lending Resources: check out landscaping, painting and other tools from the City's Tool Lending Program.
